Beecher Wallops Illinois Lutheran, 86-37; Loses Momence Squeaker

On Tuesday, January 11, Beecher brought home another huge conference victory, beating Illinois Lutheran, 86-37.

The Bobcats took command with an early lead and never looked back. Game stats also were quite impressive for Beecher, considering Duane Doss and Mitch Landis only played 2.5 quarters.

On the night, Doss’ total included 33 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists – 26 of those points were in the first half. Landis also added an impressive 20 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals, while Chris DeFrank finished with 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals.

On Friday, January 14, the Bobcats faced conference foe Momence, but just couldn’t bring home a victory, losing 38-42.

Beecher was down 14 in the fourth quarter, then battled back to within three. With 30 seconds left on the clock, they didn’t make a shot on their last possession.

For Beecher, Duane Doss’ totals included 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals, while Mitch Landis had 3 points and 7 assists.

For the season, Beecher is 14-4 overall, and 6-1 in the conference, while Momence is 15-1 and 6-0.
