Bobcats Take Double Wins
In a rather slow-moving game in Kentland, IN, Beecher came home with a non-conference win against the South Newton Rebels, 48-34, on Tuesday, January 4.
For Beecher, Duane Doss led the way with 27 points, and Mitch Landis added 9, with three treys. Currently, Beecher is 12-3 overall and 4-0 in the RVC.
Then, on Friday, January 7, Beecher added another winning notch to its belt, beating Gardner-South Wilmington, 58-35.
According to Coach Tyler Shireman, the game was much closer than the score indicated, as early in the fourth quarter, the totals showed only a two-point difference.
For the Bobcats, the leading scorer was Duane Doss with 21 points, 6 steals, and 5 rebounds, followed by teammate Mitch Landis with 14 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Chris DeFrank added 12 points and 4 steals, while Rio Llamas finished with 9 points and 8 rebounds.
Totals for the season show Beecher at 13-3 overall and 5-0 in the RVC. Gardner-South Wilmington is 5-12 overall and 1-4 in the conference.
