Frank James Woss, 85, of Peotone, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 1, 2022.

Born on July 29, 1936 in Chicago, he was the son of Frank John and Elizabeth Conlin Woss. He married Marion Kainrath on June 2, 1956. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2012.

Frank was a retired meat-cutter and enjoyed shooting, laughing, telling stories, and especially spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone.

Mr. Woss is survived by sons Frank John Woss of Kankakee, Donald Woss of Elwood, and Larry Woss of Chicago; daughters Patty (Brian) Patterson and Sherri (Wayne) Parker, both of Peotone; his grandchildren Michael Woss, Lisa (Rick) Slattery, Christine Woss, Don (Jenny) Woss, Matthew Almaguer, Krystal Wilson, Hamilton Parker, Aubrey (Kyle) Janssen, and Tess Parker; seven great-grandchildren; and his life companion, Marilyn Zoeteman of Peotone.

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 5, from 4 – 8 p.m. A prayer service at the funeral home will be held on Thursday, January 6, at 10 a.m., prior to the celebration of a funeral mass at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Lockport.
